It’s lovely to meet you

Hi, my name is Ashley Wade! I am the Program Director, Founder and Lead Teacher of Miss Ashley's Nest on the North Fork of Long Island.

Ashley Wade

Lead Teacher + Program Director

It all started when I was in college, I was enrolled in nursing school. At the time I was volunteering at a local farm. The children on the dairy farm were making apple cider and I was taking care of them while pressing the apples. From this day on my passion to teach children where food comes from and how things are made only grew stronger. I decided this was my path and changed my direction in life.

During my first year studying Early Childhood Education at SUNY Cobleskill, I stumbled across the Waldorf Philosophy. I went to an open house at the Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs, NY and fell deeply in love and new this is the only way for me. The energy of the classroom was very comforting and felt like home. The impression that was left on me never disappeared it only made my passion grow stronger. When it came time for my internship I applied to only Waldorf Schools. It became full circle when I interned at this very same classroom I toured in years ago. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education Birth to Age 5 from SUNY Cobleskill. I then worked in the very same classroom the Rose Kindergarten with Mary Maschal the NY regional representative for Waldorf education in Saratoga Springs, NY. I learned from one of the best, she set the tone for who I am today. I have become truly passionate about educating the whole child. I have attended several trainings at Sunbridge Institute along with attending the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America, WECAN Conferences for the past 7 years. I am a trained Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher. I have worked in Parent + Child, Nursery, and Kindergarten programs In both The Waldorf School of Saratoga, NY and Harbor Waldorf School located in Sag Harbor, NY. I am proud to say I have created my own program called Miss Ashley's Nest in South Jamesport, NY on the North Fork of Long Island.

I’d love to welcome your children to the Nest!
